James Sharp, O.D.
Prior to becoming an Optometrist, Dr. James Sharp graduated from Oregon State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics and again in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude. He previously worked as an Engineer for a small materials testing laboratory in Corvallis before returning to school to study Optometry.
Dr. Sharp graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2014 having been member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society all four years. While at Pacific University, he helped to shape the curriculum to better meet the needs of patients and students. He also participated in vision research as a Research Assistant at Pacific University's Vision Performance Institute. In 2014 he received both the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association’s Student of the Year award and the Beta Sigma Kappa Award for Exceptional Research. Dr. Sharp is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Oregon Optometric Physician’s Association.
When Dr. Sharp isn’t seeing patients, he enjoys spending time with his family and camping, hiking, mountain biking, and exploring the amazing nature that Oregon has to offer.
Dale Rowe, O.D.
Dr. Rowe is originally from Anaheim, California, and graduated from the University of Oregon in 1975. He received his doctorate of optometry from Southern California College of Optometry in 1980 and moved back to Oregon later that year. He has been in private practice in Eugene and Junction City since October 1980. He is active in the Lion's Club, the Covered Bridge Society of Oregon, and serves as vice-president of the Junction City Historical Society, as well as the Budget Committee of Junction City. His hobbies include photography and Duck football.
William Dunn, O.D.
Dr. William Dunn is an Optometric Physician, that has been practicing in the Springfield Oregon area for over 42 years. Dr. Dunn graduated from Northrop University in California with a degree in Electronic Engineering In 1967 and Pacific University of College Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon in 1976. Dr. Dunn and his wife have called Springfield Oregon home since that time.
Community driven, Dr. Dunn has worked with the Scouts and Eagle Scout Programs. He has also coached AYSO soccer and has been involved in many other community events.
In his personal time, he enjoys the outdoors, camping, boating and a favorite is the sand dunes. He has challenged himself in mountain climbing and white-water kayaking.
Paul M. Wehner, O.D.
Originally born and raised in North Dakota, “Dr. Paul” moved to Forest Grove, Oregon to pursue his professional education at Pacific University shortly after graduating high school with honors. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science in 1997, and achieved his Doctor of Optometry degree with distinction from Pacific University in 1999. He was awarded membership into BSK, the International Optometric Honor Society, for accomplishing four consecutive years with academic honors.
Graduating in 1999, Dr Paul worked in various practices before establishing his own practice in the Portland area for 13 years. He joins the Oregon Eye Doc team with special interests in Myopia (nearsightedness) care and treatment, Dry Eye Management and Contact Lenses, including Orthokeratology and other specialized lens designs.
Dr. Paul and his wife Michelle currently reside in Eugene where they enjoy golf, hosting gatherings with family and friends, and their two cats, Tazi and Nesta.
Dr. John Wellwood O.D.
Dr. Wellwood was born in the Heart of Illinois and grew up in Peoria, a river town the same size and feel as Eugene. At a young age, his stated career goal was to be an Army doctor, and after receiving his undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Illinois, ended up in California working as a chemist in a medical laboratory. He then decided to follow his original career choice, and earned his Optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley at the age of 38. Working with patients to meet their vision needs and practicing full-scope optometric care fulfilled his deep-felt desire to help people to see more clearly and address their medical issues in a compassionate and engaging way, using humor to ease their anxieties and utilize his excellent communication skills. He truly enjoys explaining vision issues and answering patient's questions and concerns.
Dr. Wellwood enjoys spending time with his family and has always been involved in choirs, bands and regularly sings karaoke, and also enjoys long distance bicycling and hiking in beautiful Oregon. He is excited about continuing to care for his long-term patients at his new location with Oregon Eye Docs.
